- The SunRise has a walkability score of 98 and a bike score of 91, placing it in the heart of one of Edmonton’s most walkable and bike-friendly neighbourhoods. The area also has excellent access to transit.
- Bus stops are just steps away from the building, and MacEwan station is about ½ km away, or a 6-minute walk, so you’ll have easy access to a robust transit system that can take you anywhere you’d like to go in the city.
- MacEwan University is a short 15-minute walk away, or you could hop on the 007 bus on 104 Ave NW to save yourself a few minutes.
- The NAIT campus is accessible by bus. The 009 stops right outside the building and can have you there in approximately 17 minutes.
- The University of Alberta is about 5 km away from The Sunrise. To get there it would take approximately 15 minutes by car or 18 minutes by metro.
- Roger’s Place is just around the corner, less than 1 km away. It would take approximately 8 minutes to walk there.
- The SunRise is zoned for Norwood School (K to grade 6), Spruce Avenue School (grades 7 to 9), and Victoria School (grades 10 to 12). Norwood School is approximately 1.5 km away and offers regular school bus service. Spruce Avenue School and Victoria School are also close by, and are accessible by a short walk or city bus.
- Nearby parks include Mary Burlie Park, Sir Winston Churchill Square, Central MacDougall Park, and Giovanni Caboto Park.
- There are bike-friendly shared pathways as well as protected bike lanes throughout the downtown area. The North Saskatchewan River also offers scenic trails for cycling enthusiasts.
