Best Fredericton Neighbourhoods for Renting
Thinking about settling as a newcomer to Canada or an international student in one of the great neighbourhoods of Fredericton, New Brunswick? You’d choose to live in a charming, vibrant, colonial East Coast city with a fast-growing tech industry.
Attractive rent and housing prices helped place this New Brunswick city in second place in the 2021 Maclean’s magazine ranking of the best Canadian cities to live and work remotely.
This remarkable accomplishment is mainly credited to real housing - in addition to amenities and wireless connectivity - which was one of the key metrics. Fredericton scored highly high for housing.
The city's rental housing appeal is part of a more significant trend that's led to record growth.
People from across Canada and newcomers have discovered Atlantic Canada's charms and its much cheaper homes and rentals.
Jeremy Deering, a real estate agent in Fredericton, thinks the city of almost 60,000 residents “gives people a lot more opportunity…to come and enjoy not only a slower pace of life but a lot of green space, slower commutes, shorter wait times in the grocery stores…small little luxuries that people don’t really get in bigger cities."
